Baby Shower Theme Idea

“Bee for Baby Shower”

Throwing a baby shower is so much fun to plan because the theme ideas are endless! One that I have fallen in love with is “Bee for Baby Shower.” The colors are yellow and white with pops of black. Including cute bumblebee details is the best part, and it’s so easy to do. Take a look at my suggestions below and personalize them to fit the personality of the mother-to-be.

Flowers: Daisies, sunflowers, and orange mums.
Daisies: Create “flower balls” with daisies by using water-dampened floral foam spheres in various sizes. Insert the daisies’ stems, cut to about 3 to 4 inches, into the foam completely covering the green. Insert a wire with a large yellow ribbon attached to add color.

Centerpieces: Combining sunflowers and orange mums in antique white vases will add a completely unique aspect to the event.

Accessorize: Accessorize other tables and areas of the party by placing vintage glass bottles with a stem of two of the flowers of choice. Find bottles of different heights and shapes to keep it eclectic.

Details: Bumblebees!
Flowers: Adorn the stigma (center) of a few flowers with mini-bumblebee replicas in addition to placing some on each table near the bases of the centerpieces.

Sweets: A candy bar is the perfect way to satisfy your guests’ sweet-tooth, and it’s so easy to personalize. Select candies that are yellow, white or black and place in the vases and containers of varying shapes and sizes. You can create cute labels for each and either attach them to the actual vase with a ribbon or place them in a shabby-chic frame positioned in front of the vase.

Pastries and Cookies: Your local bakery can create bumblebee shaped cookies and cupcakes embellished with marzipan bumblebee’s. Your guests will love the cute creations!

Linens: Simple

Let the centerpieces keep the attention: Keep the linens simple with crisp white tablecloths. If you want extra color, add yellow or black chair ties.

Place mats: For the place mats, a fun new idea I’ve been seeing lately is chalkboard contact paper cut to the appropriate size. You can write the guests names on the mats or just a fun message. Leave a piece of chalk at each place setting for the guests to write notes to the lucky momma-to-be.

Be sure to prepare some fun baby shower games to entertain your guests and a few fun cocktails (just because the guest of honor can’t drink, it doesn’t mean the guests shouldn’t). This link offers some great ideas for a shower or you can visit Stirrings Mixers for some other colored cocktail ideas.
Incorporating the baby’s name or sex can also add a personal touch. Enjoy the day and have fun with the details!
